Chiara Romano Van Erp began designing carpets while studying Architecture in Italy. In 1980 she moved to the United States, where she has her own interior architecture firm. A lifelong familiarity and love with the art and architectural treasures of her native country, her artistic education and her own paintings have been the inspiration for her carpet collection. Schumacher, Saxony, Asmara and Tisca Italia have purchased her designs to create exquisite tufted and needlepoint rugs. Her work has been published in major design magazines in the United States and Italy. Installations of her carpets include: New England Life in Boston, Sonesta Hotel in Curaçao, NA, Brown University in Providence, RI as well as residences around the world. [ITALIANO]  Chiara Romano Van Erp ha cominciato ad interessarsi di tappeti dai tempi in cui studiava architettura al Politecnico di Torino. Nel 1980 si è trasferita negli Stati Uniti dove attualmente vive e lavora. I suoi studi in architettura e i suoi interessi per l’arte in diverse forme, alimentati dalla presenza di artisti in famiglia, hanno contribuito e continuano ad ispirare la sua collezione di tappeti. Aziende quali Schumacher, Saxony, Asmara negli Stati Uniti e Tisca in Italia hanno acquistato suoi disegni per creare tappeti taftati o a piccolo punto. I suoi tappeti sono stati pubblicati su riviste di design e si trovano sparsi per il mondo in residenze private da Los Angeles a New York, Boston e Torino. Installazioni commerciali comprendono: New England Life a Boston, Sonesta Hotel a Curaçao e Brown University Faculty Club a Providence.
